During the IT Boom in the late 90’s and early 2000, IT By Design launched as an alternative cost effective solution to the in house Network Administrator. Costs for these in house staff were soaring and many small and mid-size companies could not justify the expense. With this in mind, IT By Design began first as an Infrastructure Management Company, acting as an outsourced Help Desk for our clients. The concept was simple: We provided shared resources for companies that were in need of the IT department processes without the added costs. These services included the procurement, implementation, and management of required hardware, software, and network devices.
In 2006 the IT Industry as a whole began to shift from a ‘Time and Materials’ concept to a ‘Managed Service Provider’ model where services were all inclusive. During this time, in order to provide a competitive edge and support accountability, IT By Design established its own Network Operations Center to provide 24x7x365 complete monitoring, maintenance, and support. By investing in our own NOC, ITBD was able to provide flat fee support options for our clients further solidifying our role as a leading IT services provider in the tri-state area. Unlike many providers, ITBD does not outsource or white label its afterhours remote support to a third party. Our NOC is owned by ITBD and the engineers are full time ITBD staff.
A cutting edge company is able to understand, adapt, and embrace change. In early 2009, as the ‘cloud’ became the technology driving IT forward, IT By Design launched our Data Center offerings. By collocating SAS 70 Type II Compliant Data Center facilities, IT By Design was able to offer cloud solutions including Fully Managed Hosting Services, Online Backup, DR/BC Solutions, and Collocation facilities.
In ITBD’s continuing effort to become an all-inclusive provider, in 2010 we initiated our Software Development division to address the database, application, and web services needs of our clients. With a team of highly skilled developers, ITBD quickly won acclaim by bringing such large clients as Fidelity and Market Live to our repertoire.
In 2013 ITBD began to offer back office solutions for the Managed Services Industry. With a significant sized NOC, and development house of 500+, ITBD has redefined how the MSP market thinks about service.
As we continued to grow in 2014, we refined our IMS and RSA offerings, began providing onsite staffing solutions, and worked towards leveraging our NOC services to begin servicing helpdesk support for Enterprise and Mid-Market accounts.
In 2015, we on-boarded a leader in the telecommunication industry for NOC services support, adding another layer to our infrastructure management services. With this acquisition, we have leveraged our global service delivery model to provide helpdesk support. It was our goal to build on this success, increase availability of resources in RSA, and leverage our talent pool to become a trusted VAR in the MSP industry. The ITBD building began construction, and our hope is to inaugurate this new building in Q4 of 2016.
As 2015 closed, we saw ITBD take steps into the Enterprise market, build our MSP offering, and become a power house in the MSP space. The new year saw ITBD continue this rise, bringing on additional Fortune 500 Managed agreements and continuing our hyper growth. At 200 strong, ITBD is evolving beyond our national footprint, into a global market with best in class service and processes. We look forward to the year ahead, and the evolution of ITBD into the leading technology solutions provider.
